For January, "Surprise" stories! We pulled character, setting and problem from 3 different envelopes - then developed them into a story with our own solution! Look for 2nd grade authors who are using quotation marks for dialogue, adjective-noun combinations to make their stories more interesting, and all around imaginative tales. (**Stories are in their original form, with no adult editing.) Our Nov. and Dec. stories are still available; go back and see how much we've grown!

Nice Job, Greg. I do enjoy camping in the woods, but that Goblin of yours has got me a bit scared now.
Keep up the great work. Eagle Eagle Hooray !
Spooky story Greg! Do you remember the book Hershel and the Hanukkah Goblins? I read it to my students last week and made a text to text connection with your story. Both stories have goblins that were trying to scare people but in the end the people conquered over the goblins.
I liked your ceriktors. How did you come up whith the goblin.
That was an ok story
Was that Gobin huge or small?
